What Can I Help You With?

Anxiety can be extremely debilitating, often leading to avoidance of social situations, increasing isolation, and loneliness. It impacts all areas of our lives.  It's really important to be able to talk to someone about anxiety.  When suffering from anxiety, the debilitating nature of an episode and the lack of warning can leave you feeling powerless and frustrated.   Anxiety is a common reason people attend therapy and can be a symptom of some deeper underlying issue that initially seems unconnected with when and where it occurs.

Addictions come in many forms and manifest in as many different ways as there are people, e.g. substance use, sex, food, shopping, pornography or going to the gym etc. There are many reasons why addictions continue unabated.  Psychotherapy can help you identify underlying causes and ongoing drivers of your addiction and help you on your road to change with psychotherapy in London.

Loss, Grief, and Bereavement

Grief is not an illness. If you have lost a loved one, it is only natural that you are hurting. Most of us are eventually able to recover, but this can be a complex process. if you cannot move on from a state of shock, numbness or sadness; or perhaps you're feeling 'stuck', then it can be helpful to seek support.

Eating Disorders

In today’s world, we are bombarded with projections of ‘perfectionism’. Feelings of dissatisfaction have increased, as has our need to appear to be in control. This can impact on our body and mind in a number of negative ways, including in our relationship with food, to the extent that your life may be put at risk. This is a complex area and no two people are the same, so if you need assistance in understanding and changing an unhelpful relationship with food, psychotherapy may help.

Personality and Emotional difficulties

These often have their origins in early life experience, yet continue to impact us as adults in our personal and professional relationships. Do you often find yourself in conflict with others, especially those important to you?  Do you have mood swings that even you don't understand? Psychotherapy provides space and time to think about how the communication between us can help you address the roots of your internal conflicts in a productive way.

For Professionals

I also welcome inquiries from trainee psychotherapists, social workers, teachers, counsellors and nurses, who may be stressed or struggling with the nature of their workload.
